Overview

As always I've been hard at work. Along with the Breedable codebase I've been trying to put the finishing touches on the upcoming Dragoos Market and the Ticket System. The Updater for Companions / Shoulder Pets and the delivery system are done and have been tested. As soon as I finish the Market and Ticket System, I'll be able to release that. Below I'll go into a bit more detail about those features. Even though the Market will temporarily only have Companions / Shoulder Pets, both the Market and Ticket System are important pieces for the official launch. So I'll be glad to have those out of the way. I'm also working on Mesh Updates for the Dragoos as well as venturing into PBR materials.

Upcoming Events & Companions

Dragoos will be featured in a couple of upcoming Christmas events. Details about those will be released when able. The only event I can confirm at the moment will be the SL Christmas Expo.

We will not be releasing Thanksgiving Companions but we will be releasing a transfer Christmas Companions set. At least some of the Winter 2023 Companions will likely be reappearing as Copy / No-Transfer items and will be free group gifts just as they were last year.

Companion Updater

The upcoming Companion Updater will only accept one item per Updater. This is due to limitations with LSL and to hopefully avoid issues with losing items. As I've said recently, this first update will be a little more painful. But the next will be much easier. The only items accepted by the Updater are individual transfer releases. This means you can't add things like Fatpacks. We'll release more info about the updater closer to releasing it.

Market & Ticket System

The upcoming update for Companions / Shoulder Pets will allow Users to list these items on the Dragoos Market. This is just a simple process of clicking the "List / Unlist" from the menu of the Companion / Shoulder Pet and it will be displayed or removed from the Market. While listed, Companions and Shoulder Pets will checkin with the server periodically. If the server hasn't seen a checkin recently the item's listing will be removed from the Market results.

Due to not having access to the HUD yet.. if you wish to register on the Website and submit a Ticket, you'll need to visit the main region or Affiliate locations (after the update is released) and click on the sign to access the website and Ticket portal. This was pretty important to have in place before releasing the Updater in case there's an issue. When you submit a Ticket, you'll get a confirmation in-world and via email that your Ticket was submitted. You'll get a messages in-world and via email when your Ticket has a response or changes status.

Clearing Things Up

I've repeatedly heard of or been asked about me quitting Dragoos development. Obviously that's not the case. I am constantly actively working on all aspects of Dragoos. I've also heard rumors about certain creators helping me with the Dragoos code. To date, the only person that has ever touched the Dragoos main codebase, is myself Onyx Core. The only other person that's ever been allowed anywhere near Dragoos related code is Xundra Snowpaw, whom I've known for 15 years. Xundra has been kind enough to help with things like the Updater and working on Activities like Fishing while I focus on other things. I hope this clears up any questions regarding that. As far as Artists, I don't have any help in that regard. Either in the 3D space or Graphic Design. I will continue to go it alone on the creative side for now until I find someone I think can produce the quality of work that I require.

Final Thoughts

I understand the community is waiting with excitement for the official release. I assure you all it's coming, but I won't rush because someone feels entitled or impatient. On a very personal note I want to express that I will NOT put my job, marriage or family in jeopardy to rush a product that I feel it is not yet ready for public eyes. I want this to be right and as solid as I can make it before I release to Beta. I'm working as hard as I possibly can on all aspects of the project. But I am a husband, father of 5 and I do have a life outside of this. I'll keep everyone updated as things progress. Thanks!
